Originally founded as Hi-Tech Fasteners in 1988 by Tom Waller, HTF was built on the idea that the mid-Atlantic region needed a proactive and resourceful hardware and component distributor. Having already gained over a decade of industry experience, Tom had a unique perspective on the needs of the market.
What started locally to serve the area’s existing manufacturing needs soon evolved into a more diverse product offering to supply a growing customer base of defense, telecom, industrial, commercial and aerospace OEMs as well as their subcontractors.
In 1992, HTF became an authorized PEM and Southco distribution partner solidifying the regions need and use of quality hardware. Through an aggressive stocking philosophy as well as a knowledgeable sales team, HTF has grown to not only serve the mid-Atlantic but the entire United States and many customers globally.
In 2013, HTF expanded into Canada to fill the distribution void of quality self-clinching hardware that the country was experiencing. With a commitment to provide the best product and service possible, HTF completed its first acquisition in early 2016 of the industrial fastener business of Wesco Aircraft Canada.
In 2018, HTF launched a new, unified brand that better reflects the diverse inventory, exceptional service and international reach that have defined our success for over 30 years. It’s through our customers’ continued support and relationships, the belief and investment in our team that we strive to stay a world-class international supplier.
“We at Penn Engineering recognize and appreciate Hi-Tech’s investment in expanding into Canada.”
